Entitlement Cuts

Re “Bromides That Cause Headaches,” editorial, Oct. 25:
The only medicine that will cure the tax and/or spend debate is the bitter one of telling senior citizens, government retirees and others who receive entitlements that they are going to get less. Seemingly, no politician wants to do that.
If those of us in the above groups, and I assume we’re in the millions, would each take, according to the amount of our benefits, a small cut or pay a few dollars more yearly for Medicare, I bet we could save Social Security, etc., for future generations.
Give us the bad news. I’m ready to vote for someone who does.
