In other 4-A Division first-round games:
Crenshaw 30, Kennedy 16--Brandon Seals gained 230 yards in 31 carries and scored on runs of nine, six and three yards to lead third-seeded Crenshaw at Palisades High.
Seals added three two-point conversion runs and his backfield mate, Farrel Payton, added 149 yards in 17 carries, including a 23-yard touchdown run in the second quarter.
Kennedy (6-5) took a 16-14 lead at halftime thanks to Waking Bailey’s 90-yard kickoff return. However, Crenshaw (10-1) overwhelmed the Golden Cougars on the ground, rushing for 382 yards and four touchdowns.
Bailey, making his debut at tailback for the injured Antwane Smith, gained 86 yards in seven carries. Smith, hobbling on an injured knee, carried only five times for 20 yards--all in the first half.
