OUTLOOK
The Warriors did not lose last season until they reached the State Division II final. Duplicating that feat depends on whether the four returning starters can fill the leadership void left by graduated guard Jamie Oenning, who led the team with an average of 13.5 points. But Burgess averaged 13.3 points and 12.4 rebounds, Pearson averaged 11 points and eight rebounds, and Bangs’ lineup will be deeper with the addition of two transfers, DuPerron and Christensen. “Both of them are real steady players,” Bangs said. “Being able to go seven, eight, nine deep makes a difference. We were about six-deep last year.” Weaver, who had a solid performance in the playoffs last season, tore her anterior cruciate ligament the week of the State final and is not at full strength yet. Bangs said his team is motivated by last season’s only loss, but it has worked very hard and likely could be better this season.
