Members of St. Joseph Ballet will appear in Donald McKayle’s new “When I grow up. When I was a child” Feb. 23 through 25 at the Irvine Barclay Theatre. Abel Gaspar, Aide Hernandez, Liz Lira, Sarah Lopez, Sonia Melendez and Claudia Romero, ages 9 to 14, will dance with UC Irvine students and members of the Emeritus Dance Company in the piece by McKayle, who is a professor on the UCI faculty. St. Joseph Ballet is based in inner-city Santa Ana. Tickets: $11. Information: (714) 854-4646.
