Everson Resigns, Figures to Be Net Loss for Agoura

Chris Everson, who coached Agoura High to consecutive Marmonte League girls’ volleyball titles, has resigned to pursue coaching opportunities in Santa Barbara after being dissatisfied with the school’s commitment to the volleyball program.
Everson, a walk-on coach, led the girls’ volleyball team for two seasons and the boys’ team in 1994.
The Chargers reached the second round of the Southern Section Division I playoffs last month before losing to Newport Harbor, the top-ranked team in the nation.
“I wanted to stay and get the team into position to compete at the state level but I felt there was a lack of support at the school,” Everson said.
