SUNLAND — A man driving east on Saticoy Street crossed the double yellow line and collided head-on with a westbound car Saturday night, seriously injuring one woman before fleeing the accident on foot, authorities said.
Police have not identified a suspect in the 9:30 p.m. incident, said Officer John Teetor of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division. The car was abandoned at the accident site near Saticoy Street and Beck Avenue.
The injured woman, identified as Maria Hernandez, was rushed to Holy Cross Medical Center with multiple fractures and lacerations, Teetor said. Five others riding in the car with Hernandez, whose residence is not known, were treated for minor injuries at the scene, Teetor said.
