School Magnet Meeting Canceled

An informational meeting about the various magnet programs available at Los Angeles Unified School District schools was canceled Tuesday because of the rains.
The meeting for parents had been scheduled at San Fernando Elementary School.
Three new dates have been scheduled: Tuesday at Holmes Middle in Northridge, Jan. 24 at Broad Avenue Elementary in Wilmington and Jan. 31 at San Fernando Elementary.
All are from 6 to 8 p.m.
District officials will explain at the magnet meetings how to apply to a magnet, transportation concerns and the gifted verification process for parents interested in enrolling their children in programs for gifted and highly gifted students.
