GIRLS’ BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Garden Grove Stays Undefeated in League Play

Janine Shaw scored 15 points as Garden Grove remained perfect in league play with a 47-34 victory over Santiago Friday night at Garden Grove.

Gina Huizar scored 11 points and Amanda Hall had nine for the Argonauts (10-6, 6-0).

Angie Ching-Sam led Santiago (8-10, 3-3) with 16 points.

In other Garden Grove League games:

Bolsa Grande 41, Rancho Alamitos 30--Jill Tantardini scored 13 points for host Bolsa Grande (5-14, 2-4), which beat Rancho Alamitos for the first time in five years.

Bolsa Grande trailed, 14-13, at halftime, but outscored Rancho Alamitos, 17-9, in the fourth quarter to take control.

Pacifica 58, Los Amigos 41--Holly Pawlowski scored 17 points for Pacifica (7-11, 5-1). Teammates Amy Rummel had 13 and Heather Green added 10.

In the Academy League:

Connelly 49, Capistrano Valley Christian 38--Jennifer Samson scored 20 points and had six steals for Connelly (5-6, 3-1). Georgina Cervantes added 13 points.

Jessica Oliver had 20 points for Capistrano Valley Christian (6-10, 2-2).

St. Margaret’s 62, Liberty Christian 40--Shay Trette had 22 points and Kelly Dane had 12 for St. Margaret’s (5-7, 2-2), which outscored Liberty Christian 26-8 in the third quarter.

Lisa Winters had 19 points for Liberty Christian (8-7, 1-3).
