OXNARD : Doctors Retrieve Heroin From Suspect
- Share via
A man suspected of selling heroin had a novel way of hiding his cache--he swallowed it, Oxnard police said.
But police, seeing him stuff a packet in his mouth at the scene of the arrest Monday, immediately obtained a search warrant for his body.
Then they arrested Jose Aguilar, 29, and transported him to St. John’s Regional Medical Center. There, doctors “retrieved” a small package filled with heroin, officers said, refusing to say how the doctors had forced the package out of Aguilar’s body.
The police did say, however, that suspects in such cases are often administered a liquid that causes them to vomit.
Aguilar and Roberto Seda, 20, were both arrested on suspicion of possession of heroin with the intent to sell, police said.
