Children 11 or younger who bring at least two empty aluminum cans to the Santa Ana Zoo today will be admitted free as part of a special celebration of the zoo’s new toco toucans, a spokeswoman said.
“Two Cans for Toucans Day,” sponsored by the Friends of the Santa Ana Zoo and Great Western Reclamation, will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and proceeds from recycling the aluminum cans will be used to help fund the zoo’s new rain forest exhibit.
The zoo is at 1801 E. Chestnut Ave. and is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
