Woodbridge Routs Long Beach Poly, 72-42

Woodbridge continued its run toward the top seeding in the Division II-AA Southern Section playoffs by beating another nonleague opponent Saturday.
The Warriors beat Long Beach Poly, 72-42, at home to extend their winning streak to 10 games.
Woodbridge, ranked No. 1 in Orange County, No. 1 in the Southern Section Division II poll, and No. 1 in the Cal-Hi Sports overall state rankings, led by 13 points at halftime. It blew out the Jackrabbits in the third quarter with a 17-6 scoring edge.
Sophomore Erin Stovall and junior Melanie Pearson scored 15 points each for Woodbridge (23-1), and senior Angela Burgess added 14.
Long Beach Poly (20-4), a Division I team, got 11 points apiece from Laneka Allen and K.K. Johns.
