Alamo Rent A Car to Restructure: The Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.-based company said it will eliminate the position of president and chief operating officer in addition to restructuring its operations into four divisions. The presidents of the newly created divisions are to report directly to Alamo’s chairman and chief executive, Michael S. Egan, who also is the privately held company’s majority shareholder. Charles D. Platt, 63, has retired as president and chief operating officer.
