GIRLS’ BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : North Hollywood Wins Ninth Consecutive Title

North Hollywood High clinched the Valley Pac-8 Conference championship with a 54-50 victory over Sylmar on Wednesday at North Hollywood.
Anna Celaya scored 23 points, and Samantha Fargeon added 16 points and 15 rebounds for the Huskies.
The title was the ninth in a row for North Hollywood (19-2, 10-0), which has won 24 consecutive conference games and extended its overall winning streak to 16.
Nadra Manley and Kotasha Gowin each scored 11 points for Sylmar (12-3, 7-2).

Taft 49, Kennedy 45--Vanessa Dunn scored 15 points and Crystal Griffin added 12 for the Toreadors (16-2, 8-1) in a game that decided the Northwest Valley Conference 4-A championship.
Sabrina Beldner scored 19 points and Coyles Scarbrough added 12 for Kennedy (16-7, 7-2).
Chatsworth 53, San Fernando 20--The Chancellors (16-6, 7-2) clinched the Northwest Valley 3-A championship.
Poly 80, Reseda 40--Dora Lopez scored 21 points and Christina Perez added 14 for Poly in a Valley Pac-8 game in Sun Valley. LaShonda Holland scored 34 points for the Regents (1-11, 1-8).
Grant 75, Canoga Park 32--Poma Stevenson had 21 points and 10 rebounds for Grant (11-10, 5-4) in a Valley Pac-8 game.
El Camino Real 49, Granada Hills 26--Tami Jones had 19 points, nine rebounds and six steals for the Conquistadors (10-8, 6-3) in a Northwest Valley game.
Birmingham 62, Cleveland 38--Dana Scheybeler scored 19 points and Alexandra Gravani added 16 points and 15 rebounds for the Braves (8-9, 5-4) in a Northwest Valley game.
Hart 66, Burbank 8--LaCresha Clark scored 19 points and had seven steals for the Indians (19-5, 10-1) in a Foothill League game.
