VENTURA : Supervisors to Air Proposal on Trash
- Share via
Ventura County Supervisor John Flynn and Fillmore Councilman Roger Campbell will hold a joint press conference Thursday to discuss a proposal for resolving the west county’s trash problems.
The two officials said they believe that they have come up with an alternative solution for disposing of the area’s trash after Bailard Landfill in Oxnard closes in 1996 or 1997.
Flynn and Campbell have invited county waste disposal and recycling officials to attend the press briefing, which is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at the Ventura County Government Center.
Flynn declined to discuss details of his proposal. But he said he will discuss a number of alternatives, including the expansion of the Toland Road Landfill, the proposed Weldon Canyon dump as well as the increased shipment of trash to Chiquita Landfill in Los Angeles County.
