El Modena, Junior
Soccer/Forward
Many El Modena opponents spend a lot of energy trying to shut down Vanguard forward Kaylee Whitfield, who has 30 goals and 18 assists this season, but that approach often backfires because of Terry, the second-leading scorer. Terry, who has 15 goals and 18 assists, has had a primary role in seven of the Vanguards’ eight goals in the playoffs. Last week, she had a goal and an assist in a 3-0 victory over Sonora and did the same thing in a 2-0 victory over Ventura. “She really steps up her play during pressure situations,” El Modena Coach Jeff Pearson said. “She’s able to give herself room to get shots off and she has a knack for finding the back of the net.”
