PACOIMA : School Playground to Open Saturday

Pacoima youngsters will have access to the playground at Haddon Elementary School on Saturdays and after school starting this weekend.
The grand opening of the playground will take place Saturday at the school.
The new hours were brought about by the Pacoima Village Assn., a group of parents formed to find safe places for children to play when they’re not in school. There are no city playgrounds in that area of Pacoima, said parent Richard Guerrero, a member of the Pacoima Village Assn.
Haddon’s playground was made available after parents met with Los Angeles city and school officials. The playground will be supervised by at least one adult at all times, Guerrero said.
