Cerplex Shareholder Suit: Cerplex Group Inc. said Friday that a shareholder has filed a lawsuit against the company and three of its officers alleging violations of securities laws.
In a press release, Cerplex said the complaint filed in federal court alleges that some of the company’s public disclosures contain material misstatements or omissions. The action seeks damages on behalf of a class of shareholders who purchased Cerplex common shares from April 8, 1994, to Feb. 15 this year.
The company said the allegations are “without merit” and said it intends to defend against them vigorously.
Based in Tustin, Cerplex is a provider of electronic repair and parts logistics services, mainly for the computer and telecommunications industries.
In Friday’s Nasdaq trading, the company’s stock was down $1 a share to close at $7.
