COUNTYWIDE : March 13 Deadline Set for Storm Victim Aid
- Share via
Victims of the recent winter storms have until March 13 to apply for most state or federal disaster assistance programs, officials have announced.
An exception to that deadline is the federal Disaster Mortgage and Rental Assistance Program, which offers grants to eligible applicants for mortgage or rental payments through the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
The deadline for the mortgage and rental program is July 10. The program provides assistance to people facing imminent foreclosure or eviction as a result of a federally declared disaster.
For more information, call the toll-free FEMA disaster line from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The number is (800) 462-9029, or (800) 462-7585 for TDD users. The line will also be available during those hours on March 12. Help will be available in a number of languages.
