OXNARD : Police Arrest 19 in Weekend Crackdown

In an effort to combat street crime, Oxnard police arrested 19 people during a weekend crackdown that targeted areas with heavy gang activities, authorities said.
The department’s Safe Streets Project began on Saturday night when nine officers made four felony arrests and 15 misdemeanor arrests. Officers also issued 17 citations for traffic infractions and other violations of city ordinances, police said.
In addition, officers said they seized one semiautomatic pistol and questioned 43 suspected gang members.
