COLLEGE BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Massachusetts Has a Chance to Make It Four Titles in a Row

Massachusetts’ 68-57 victory over St. Joseph’s (17-11) in Philadelphia on Monday night sent the eighth-ranked Minutemen home for a chance at a fourth consecutive Atlantic 10 title.
The Minutemen (25-4) will play host to Thursday night’s championship game against Temple (19-9), a 47-42 winner over Rutgers.
OTHER GAMES
Chris Carr scored 22 points as Southern Illinois (23-8) won its third consecutive Missouri Valley Conference tournament, defeating Tulsa (22-7), 77-62, at St Louis. . . . Mike Frensley tied the game in overtime with a three-point shot and won it with a 14-foot jumper with 4.2 seconds left as St. Peter’s (19-10) upset Manhattan (25-4), 80-78, to win the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference tournament at Albany, N.Y. . . . Old Dominion (20-11) didn’t allow James Madison (16-13) a shot from the field in the final 2:43 and defeated the Dukes, 80-75, to win the Colonial Athletic Assn. tournament at Richmond, Va. Southern Illinois, St. Peter’s and Old Dominion earned automatic NCAA tournament berths.
