Hussman No-Hits Royal in Opener

QUARTZ HILL — Darrell Hussman opened the season for Quartz Hill High by pitching a no-hitter against Royal in a 2-0 victory Tuesday.
Hussman, a 6-foot-4 senior right-hander whom Baseball America listed as the 74th-best high school prospect in the nation, struck out five and walked five in the seven-inning effort.
Paul Leth hit a solo home run in the fourth inning, and Dave Fischenich went two for three and scored a run in the first inning.
Royal fell to 2-2.
