Inland Steel Plans Chinese Joint Venture: Inland Steel Industries Inc. said it plans to enter a joint venture that will manage the sale of industrial materials in China. The firm’s Inland International Inc. unit will own 49% of the venture, called Ryerson of China. Its Chinese partner, Baoshan Iron & Steel Corp., will own 51%. Ryerson will focus on managing import and export operations and metals distribution, with an initial emphasis on selling Baoshan products to Inland’s customers with operations in China.
