Steve Carter had 17 kills to lead Trabuco Hills over San Clemente in a South Coast League boys’ volleyball match Friday at Trabuco Hills High.
Kevin Kelly had 45 assists for the Mustangs, who won, 2-15, 15-13, 15-10, 15-9. Trabuco Hills improves to 6-2, 2-2.
In another South Coast League match:
Capistrano Valley 3, Dana Hills 0--Omar Rawi and Ryan Thurlow each had 10 kills for Capistrano Valley (6-4, 4-0) during the 15-13, 15-13, 16-14 sweep.
In Garden Grove League volleyball:
Garden Grove 3, Bolsa Grande 0--Ricky Branon had 12 kills and Mike Blackner had 11 to lead Garden Grove (9-2, 6-1) over Bolsa Grande.
The Matadors swept Garden Grove, 15-5, 15-7, 15-7. Bolsa Grande is 6-7, 1-6.
La Quinta 3, Los Amigos 0--Dino Dukovic had 11 kills and Trung Khuu had nine as La Quinta (10-1, 7-0) won, 15-11, 15-6, 15-6. Hau Vo added 26 assists for La Quinta.
In Pacific Coast League volleyball:
Aliso Niguel 3, Estancia 0--Bryan Todd and Cory Chandler each had 14 kills for visiting Aliso Niguel, which won, 15-7, 15-5, 18-16. Aliso Niguel improves to 8-2, 3-1.
University 3, Costa Mesa 1--Donald Chen had 26 kills and Eric Bochniarz had 13 in the 15-12, 11-15, 15-4, 15-12 victory for University (3-7, 2-2).
In the Sunset League:
Esperanza 3, Marina 0--Jon Alleman had 20 kills and Ryan Rex had 13 kills for Esperanza (7-3, 2-2), which defeated Marina, 15-13, 15-12, 15-12. Marina is 1-3 in league.
Fountain Valley 3, Los Alamitos 0--Ed Ratledge led Fountain Valley (8-2, 3-1) with seven kills during the 15-4, 15-2, 15-1 sweep. Setter Kurt Seckington had 30 assists and three aces.
Huntington Beach 3, Edison 0--Clay Chilcott had nine kills to lead top-ranked Huntington Beach (10-0, 4-0), over Edison, 15-8, 15-4, 15-10.
