Investigators in Thousand Oaks are looking for three men who robbed a Newbury Park man moments after he parked his car outside his home, authorities said Thursday.
Ely Tamir, 59, was accosted by three men after arriving at his home in the 3000 block of Bearcreek Drive at about 9:15 p.m. Wednesday, Ventura County sheriff’s officials said.
One of the three suspects displayed a handgun and demanded a valise that Tamir was holding, investigators said.
A struggle ensued between the victim and the attackers, and Tamir suffered minor abrasions before the three men escaped on foot with the suitcase, according to sheriff’s officials.
The case contained some jewelry and other property, but investigators were unable to say how much the property was worth. An investigation is continuing.
