Peterman Beats Valentine for Deaf Racquetball Title

ANAHEIM — Vic Peterman won his fourth consecutive National Deaf racquetball title Saturday night at the National Racquetball Assn. of the Deaf Championships at L.A. Fitness.
Peterman, from Smithville, Ohio, is the No. 1 deaf player in the country. He won his record-breaking title by defeating Joe Valentine of Columbus, Ohio, 15-11, 3-15, 11-4, in the men’s open division.
Peterman defeated Bill Milbach from Vancouver, Wash., in the quarterfinals, 15-6, 10-15, 11-5, and went on to defeat Wayne Delatte of New York in the semifinals, 15-3, 15-6.
Before defeating Valentine, Peterman teamed with Milbach in doubles. The pair beat Valentine and Kevin Taylor, 10-15, 15-12, 11-8.
