DHL, Continental Launch Asian Overnight Service: The daily document, package and freight delivery service will operate through Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport. DHL Worldwide Express and Continental Micronesia, a unit of Houston-based Continental Airlines Inc., have entered into a strategic alliance to enable DHL to operate the service. The first daily overnight service between Manila and Taipei will begin June 1, DHL said in a statement. Continental Micronesia, a U.S.-licensed international carrier, is 91% owned by Continental Airlines and 9% by United Micronesia Development Assn., an investment vehicle of Larry Hillblom, one of the three founders of DHL in the United States.
