HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL ROUNDUP : Westlake Gets the Most From Least in 19th, 1-0

Westlake High, which didn’t have a runner reach third base for 18 innings, took advantage of a throwing error to beat Thousand Oaks, 1-0, in the 19th inning of a Marmonte League game Thursday at Westlake.
The Warriors (20-4, 10-2) won the game when Lancer second baseman Allison Bowman overthrew first base with two out in the 19th, sending home Michelle Notaro from third to end the three-hour game.
Kelly DeArman (19-3), who struck out six, pitched a complete game for Westlake. Jennifer Sharron went the distance for Thousand Oaks (13-8-1, 8-4), striking out 15.
Camarillo 7, Royal 2--Melanie Richardson (11-2) pitched four innings, striking out eight and walking two for the Scorpions (20-3-1, 11-1) in a Marmonte League game at Royal.
Brooke Rutschman pitched three perfect innings in relief of Richardson, striking out five.
Newbury Park 4, Agoura 0--Jann Thorpe pitched a three-hitter, struck out eight and walked one for the Panthers (16-8, 8-4) in a Marmonte League game at Newbury Park. Thorpe (1-1) drove in two runs with a double.
Simi Valley 5, Channel Islands 0--Lisa DeStefano pitched a one-hitter, striking out 12 and walking four as the Pioneers (12-13, 6-6) won a Marmonte League game at Channel Islands.
Hoover 8, Glendale 0--Daphne Vadman had five hits, scored two runs and drove in one for the Tornadoes (14-11, 5-3) in a Pacific League game at Glendale.
Tina Kinney (14-9) pitched a two-hitter, striking out nine in her fourth consecutive shutout.
Crescenta Valley 1, Arcadia 0--Hope Robertshaw stole third with two out in the fourth inning and scored on a throwing error by Arcadia catcher Cara Wallace to give the Falcons (19-3, 7-1) a Pacific League victory.
Danielle Robertshaw (12-1) pitched her ninth shutout and second consecutive one-hitter for Crescenta Valley, which moved a game ahead of Arcadia (15-5, 6-2) with two to play.
Village Christian 8, L.A. Baptist 2--Jessie Leivo had two hits, including a triple, two RBIs and was the winning pitcher for the Crusaders in an Alpha League game.
Hueneme 16, Santa Barbara 4--Dana Talili had a pair of home runs in the fifth inning as the Vikings (10-8, 6-5) exploded for 11 runs in a Channel League game.
La Canada 9, South Pasadena 0--Lindsay Parker (17-2) pitched her 10th one-hitter of the season, striking out 15 for the Spartans (17-2, 9-1) in a Rio Hondo League game at La Canada.
