Free Speech

* I doubt if I have ever agreed with a single word, let alone an entire column written by Colman McCarthy in the past. May 4 (Column Left), however, I write you to thank McCarthy for solidly defending freedom of speech. Not just for one cause, not just for one point of view, not just for one group, but for everyone.
We cannot, we must not, let the tragedy in Oklahoma City be an excuse for censorship of speech and ideas, be they from the left, from the right, or down the middle of the road. McCarthy’s column exemplifies the true pursuit of freedom. I salute him for taking such a decisive stand.
