An open house will take place Sunday at the Balboa Branch of the Newport Beach Public Library as part of the library’s Diamond Jubilee.
Displays will include newspaper clippings about the growth of the library and a copy of the city ordinance that formally established the city’s first library 75 years ago, on Balboa Boulevard.
“Our entire branch staff looks forward to reminiscing about the growth of the Newport Beach Public Library and sharing our hopes for its future,” branch manager Phyllis Scheffler said.
The free event will be from noon to 5 p.m., with entertainment by the Oasis Ukulele Strummers from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
The library is at 100 E. Balboa Blvd., Newport Beach.
Information: (714) 644-3171.
