Health Program Targets Youths Who Lack Insurance
- Share via
Orange County youngsters not covered by health insurance may be eligible for a premium-free health care package through the CaliforniaKids Healthcare Foundation.
The program is open to children whose parents earn too much to qualify for Medi-Cal but not enough to afford private medical insurance.
It offers routine physical exams, immunizations, laboratory tests, X-rays, emergency medical and accident care, outpatient surgery, prescription drugs and vision service to uninsured children 2 to 18.
CaliforniaKids is a private and public partnership supported by corporations, community organizations and individual contributions. It operates in nine other California counties and recently extended operations to Orange County, where it hopes to enroll 300 uninsured children who meet its financial guidelines.
Information: (800) 374-4KID.
