Eight Arrests Made at Sobriety Checkpoint

COSTA MESA — Police said Saturday that a drunk-driving checkpoint yielded eight arrests.
Police began canvassing cars at Harbor Boulevard and Wilson Street at 9 p.m. Friday and continued through 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
Of 1,672 motorists who passed through the checkpoint, police conducted field sobriety tests on 27 and arrested eight. They were booked into the city jail.
More checkpoints are planned.
