Premier Laser Systems: The Irvine manufacturer of amplified light and fiber optic equipment has patented a new laser system that may be used in cataract removal. Company officials said the high-repetition, mid-infrared laser system may also have dental applications, such as replacing the high-speed drill dentists use during cavity-filling procedures.
