The Ventura County Air Pollution Control District has issued a health advisory due to high levels of ozone in Simi Valley.
The advisory, which was also issued Saturday, will be in effect today from noon until 8 p.m. Residents are cautioned to avoid strenuous outdoor activity such as jogging, competitive swimming and soccer.
All healthy men, women and children should reschedule events that demand “sustained vigorous activity” while the advisory is in effect, according to the county agency’s information hot line.
Residents are also advised to avoid nonessential driving and stay away from areas of cigarette smoke.
