1 Dead, 2 Officers Hurt in Shootout

Two Los Angeles police officers were wounded in a gun battle that left one person dead and another wounded in Thousand Oaks late Monday night, according to Ventura County Sheriff’s Detective Ernie Montagna.
The shootout occurred at 9:47 p.m. on Lawrence Drive near Hillcrest Drive, at the west end of the city, said Pam Sears, a spokeswoman with the Ventura County Fire Department.
