THOUSAND OAKS : Arts Plaza Unveils 2nd Season Lineup

Crooners and comedians will take to the stage during the Civic Arts Plaza Performing Arts Center’s second season, with visits from the likes of Liza Minnelli, Julio Iglesias and Penn & Teller.
Avalon Attractions, the group that books the major performers at the new venue, announced on Wednesday its lineup for 1995-96.
Minnelli kicks off the season, coming to Thousand Oaks for four performances Aug. 9 to 12, playing dates she canceled last season because of hip surgery. All tickets from the postponed shows will be honored.
Jerry Lee Lewis arrives Sept. 6, Kenny Loggins plays three shows Sept. 25 to 27, and Iglesias plays three shows Sept. 29 to Oct. 1.
Comic relief comes in the form of George Carlin on Oct. 7, Penn & Teller on Nov. 11 and Bill Cosby on Feb. 4.
Seventies pop stars Air Supply, Gordon Lightfoot and John Denver are also coming to Thousand Oaks, as well as country-Western singers Merle Haggard and Johnny Cash.
Other artists scheduled to appear include John Tesh, Patty Loveless, Warren Miller, Manhattan Transfer, Burt Bacharach with Dionne Warwick, Tom Jones, Roger Williams, Melissa Manchester and Peter, Paul & Mary.
