Erica Sorgi of Mission Viejo will be among the top divers in the Southern California Diving Invitational beginning Friday at the Marguerite International Swimming and Diving Complex in Mission Viejo.
Sorgi, 12, who just returned from the Waldkraiburg International Age Group Championship in Waldkraiburg, Germany, where she won the three-meter springboard competition and was the youngest diver competing at the Senior Nationals Diving Championships last March, will join Mission Viejo Nadadores teammate Brian Earley, who was the 1994 NCAA diver of the year.
Other Nadadores competing include Sandy Zubrin, a three-time high school All-American, and Jimmy Sjodin, the 1995 Swedish National Champion in the three-meter springboard and platform. Competition begins at 9 a.m. Friday with boys’ 13 and under one-meter diving.
