Costa Mesa’s Schwartz Wins Scratch Main

COSTA MESA — Bobby Schwartz of Costa Mesa won the four-lap scratch main event of the weekly speedway motorcycle racing program Friday night at the Orange County Fairgrounds.
Schwartz beat Brad Oxley of San Juan Capistrano, who was second, and Gary Hicks of Riverside, who finished third. Steve Lucero of Riverside was fourth and Lance King of Huntington Beach fifth.
Lucero won the eight-lap handicap main event with King second, Oxley third and Shawn McConnell of Brea fourth. The announced crowd was 3,045.
