HUNTINGTON BEACH — Unusual children’s pop-up books on subjects ranging from fairy tales to dinosaurs and a collection of artist books will be on exhibit beginning today at the Newland House Museum.
The artist books, limited editions by local artists, use words and photographs to tell a story, said Karen Topol, coordinator of the exhibit.
Topol said the books on display feature accordion folds and tubular designs, as well as more conventional layouts. Visitors will be allowed handle and read most of the books.
The exhibit, sponsored by the Huntington Beach Historical Society and the Newland House Board of Trustees, continues through July 16.
Exhibit hours are 2 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and noon to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
The Newland House Museum is at 19820 Beach Blvd. at Adams Avenue.
