Clinton to Name Mideast Expert as Lebanon Envoy

WASHINGTON — Richard Henry Jones, a State Department Middle East expert, will be nominated by President Clinton to be ambassador to Lebanon, the White House announced.
Jones, 44, is currently serving as head of the department’s Office of Egyptian Affairs and has held posts in Saudi Arabia and Tunisia. The nomination is subject to Senate confirmation.
