EU Says Trade Differences Mask Better U.S. Relations: Differences between the European Union and the United States about cars and financial services cloud a generally brighter picture for overall trade relations between them, an EU report said. “Despite some well-documented exceptions, EU-U.S. relations are better than they have been for some time in the field of trade, investment and economic relations,” the European Commission said in a statement on its annual report on U.S. trade barriers. “As with previous years, the European Commission’s principal remaining concern is the United States’ willingness to threaten or actually engage in unilateral trade action,” the statement said.
