MUSIC PICK OF WEEK : Disbanding Acousticats to Start New Lives
- Share via
The Acousticats, pure purveyors of polished bluegrass, folk, country, rock, blues and about every other kind of acoustic music imaginable, are set to pull the plug on it all after a gig tonight at SOhO in Santa Barbara.
Guitarist Cyrus Clarke, who often plays solo, is looking to expand his musical horizons, one of the usual reasons for musical dissolution.
Clarke is supported by a pair of virtuoso fiddle players, as well as mandolin and bass players. The band has released two albums--the latest, “The Cat’s Meow,” came out last summer.
The ever-affordable free show begins at 9 p.m. at the venue, 1221 State St. Call 962-7776 for information.
