Just the FAQs for X-Philes

Jaclyn Easton is the host of "Log On U.S.A.," which airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 1 p.m. on KIEV-AM 870

Fox’s TV show “The X-Files” may have wrapped up its second season in the spring, but conversation among fans of the cult program continues to swell on the Internet.

In fact, two Usenet groups are devoted to the show. The first is for general “X-Files” conversation and can be found at alt.tv.x-files . There’s something here for all fans (known as X-Philes in cyberspace). Included are four sets of “frequently asked questions,” or FAQs, which are updated and posted the first day of each month.

One FAQ answers general questions about the show, and another is just for “X-Files” “newbies.” You will also find an FAQ for each of the show’s stars, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson. Although the “X-Files” creators do not accept unsolicited scripts for the show, fans of the program are compelled to write them anyway. Instead of submitting them to the producers, they post them to alt.tv.x-files.creative for the enjoyment of fellow fans.

If you are looking for “X-File’s” sound files, video clips and background information, including a complete episode guide, be sure to check out the official “X-Files” World Wide Web site at https:// www.delphi.com/XFiles/ .

Internet Usenet Newsgroups and the World Wide Web are also available through America Online, CompuServe, Prodigy and TimesLink.*
