LA PALMA : Swap of Highway for Housing Begins
- Share via
Willing to give up some land in return for affordable housing, the City Council this week began the procedure for relinquishing small portions of city-owned highway on Denni Street and Kathy Drive.
A developer needs the land to start construction this fall on a long-planned affordable housing project for the city.
“In order that the Olson Co., developer for the affordable housing project, can close escrow and obtain its loan to build the development, it is necessary for the city of La Palma to quitclaim to the La Palma Community Development Commission portions of” the streets, said Public Works Director Ismile H. Noorbaksh.
Noorbaksh said the Community Development Commission will deed the street property to the Olson Co.
