Phil Martelli, an assistant at St. Joseph’s the last 10 years, was hired as head coach of the Philadelphia school, replacing John Griffin, who resigned July 11.

The Minnesota Vikings said they would do whatever they could to help the Moons after learning that Felicia Moon had accused her husband, quarterback Warren Moon, of beating and choking her on Tuesday. Moon was accused of sexual harassment earlier this year by a former Viking cheerleader.
