Maybe He’ll Buy in His Next Life

I have had eight Raider season tickets since they moved to L.A., costing me (last season) $38 each. So for eight games, it set me back $2,432.
In may mailbox recently came the first slick color brochure I ever received from Al Davis, offering me “A ONCE-IN-A-LIFETIME OPPORTUNITY” to buy Oakland Raider PSLs (Personal Seat Licenses). Here’s what you get:
--A shot at getting the opportunity to get in the lottery for season tickets.
--PSLs for a location similar to what I had on the 25-yard line for only $4,000 each (8 x $4,000 = $32,000.)
--If I am one of the lucky winners of PSLs--no guarantee on a similar location--I then must buy eight season tickets at some unknown price (my guess is $60-$80 per ticket).
--If I miss buying season tickets one year, I lose my PSL.
--My PSL expires in 10 years and I assume I start all over.
--I get to pay $75 per year per ticket as an annual Loge Maintenance Fee, which will go up $10 per ticket per year.
So, the first year, if I am so favored to get PSLs, I get to watch eight Raider games with seven rich friends by laying out roughly $39,000 . . . and that doesn’t include the $35 pizza and $5 beer and airfare and parking and programs.
Maybe I’ll pass after all. Thanks for the opportunity, though, Al.
