ORANGE COUNTY ALMANAC : Inn Dates Back to ‘90s
- Share via
The Porter-French House in Orange, an inn recently added to the National Register of Historic Places, dates back to the 1890s. Banker John Porter bought the house and 10 surrounding acres in 1902. The Porter family remodeled the home in 1917, keeping only a few elements of the original interior.
The home acquired its hyphenated name in 1937, when it was purchased by John and Virginia French.
