The Cheesecake Factory, a Calabasas-based restaurant chain, said it earned $2.38 million in the fiscal second quarter that ended July 2, up 27% from $1.87 million in the corresponding period last year. The gain was on a 40% increase in revenue to $28.5 million from $20.4 million last year.
For the first six months of this year, the Cheesecake Factory earned $4.2 million, up about 32% from $3.2 million last year, and revenues were up 37% to $53.5 million.
The company said its improved results were a consequence of the continued popularity of its restaurants. The company now operates 11 restaurants, and is building three more. Twenty other sites are also being considered.
