OJAI VALLEY : Hazardous Waste Disposal Scheduled
- Share via
Ojai Valley residents with old paint, used motor oil, leftover pesticides and other hazardous wastes can safely dispose of the chemicals Saturday.
Ojai recycling officials urged residents to take advantage of the August event, because funding for future household hazardous waste drop-off days is uncertain.
Residents can drop off up to five gallons or 50 pounds of material at once, recycling coordinator Lynn Malone said in a statement.
Cleaning products, pool and photographic chemicals, anti-freeze and batteries will be accepted in addition to paint, oil and pesticides, Malone said.
The drop-offs are by appointment only to reduce lines, Malone said. To make an appointment, call (800) 952-5566.
