UP THE COAST : One-Woman Show Looks at British Comedienne : ‘A Lancashire Lass’ examines the life of Gracie Fields, a ‘30s performer and one of the first to entertain troops during wartime.

Christina Allison will portray legendary British singer-comedienne Gracie Fields in a one-woman show Friday at Santa Barbara’s Cabrillo Pavilion Arts Center.

“A Lancashire Lass,” will look at the life of Fields, who was one of England’s top entertainers during the 1930s and was among the first performers to entertain military troops at war. Show time is 8 p.m. Tickets are $15, which includes a glass of champagne or sparkling cider. Call 687-1043. The Arts Center is at 1118 E. Cabrillo Blvd.

The Circle Bar B Dinner Theatre in Goleta will present the man-eating-plant musical “Little Shop of Horrors,” Friday through Sept. 30. Santa Barbara’s Museum of Natural History will celebrate the Native American Yurok culture of Northern California on Saturday with two special events. First, visitors will hear traditional Yurok drum songs and legends beginning at 11 a.m.

At 2 p.m., the Yurok Dancers will sing and dance in full traditional regalia. Yurok crafts will be on display and available for purchase. Admission to either or both events is the price of museum admission: $6 (general), $4 (teen-agers and senior citizens), $3 (children 2 to 12). Call 682-4711 for more information. Keith Roberts and Marianna Tcherkassky, principal dancers with the American Ballet Theatre Company, will perform a one-act version of “Romeo & Juliet” on Saturday at Santa Barbara’s Granada Theatre. The dance will be part of a pair of concerts featuring ABT dancers and the local State Street Ballet.
