Simi Annexation Plan Makes No Sense

* I read in your Aug. 13 article that the city of Simi Valley plans to annex 500 more residents while allowing more and more building of houses. City officials talk of being so financially strapped that they cannot allow a bit more financial help to our library, but they can allow “better government services” to more residents. The two ideas don’t jibe.
When we bought our home here, the city asked us to deed the outside green space to the city, with the promise it would be cared for by the city. It hasn’t happened yet. I keep wondering why they want to take on more population.
